  1. Surya Prakash


    Born in 1940, the artist passed his formal education in art in Hyderabad and later trained under eminent artist Ram Kumar in New Delhi. Starting with his first Solo Show in Hyderabad in 1963, he has held over 50 Solo Exhibitions in India & Abroad. Surya Prakash interestingly went on to organize camps and exhibitions in his native state when there were no such facilities available. An impressionist, he captures the heavenliness of the native landscapes in various hues. “I dream in color vivid, vibrant and lively”. The national exhibitions of the 70s and 80s made Surya Prakash a well known name in the Indian art scene.

    Surya Prakash has received number of awards including the National Award and gold medals from Hyderabad Art Society and Andhra Pradesh Lalit Kala Akademi. The All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi conferred him with the title of “Kala Vibhushan”. He has received “Pratibha Puraskaram” from the Telugu University, while the Andhra Pradesh state government honoured him with the “Hamsa Award” His paintings are in various public, corporate and private collections both in India and abroad.
